U19 Elite Boys — Champions at Disney Showcase

Congratulations to the KBSC U19 Elite Boys for their exceptional play this past weekend at the prestigious Disney Showcase tournament in Orlando, Florida.  The tournament was hosted at the spectacular ESPN Wide World of Sports complex. The U19s participated in the Premier – Red Division, playing top teams Florida, South Carolina and Rhode Island. They won their bracket with 6 points, despite losing a tough match against the Bruno United FC from Rhode Island. In the final, they played one of their local rivals, Weston FC Academy Reserves. They displayed tenacity and “garra” to pull out a 1:0 win.

The U19s are the first KBSC team to win a Disney Showcase event, putting our small island club on the big stage.

The Disney Showcase serves as an important tournament for players to be evaluated by college coaches. It is considered one of the TOP 5 tournaments in the U.S. The hard work of these boys, of which many have been playing together for years, really paid off. We could not be more proud of their success.
